Introducing YETI CHASER, a high-energy rock duo with an infectious pop sincerity.

Joe O’Leary and Matt McGuire have been making music together since 2013, when they formed the band SHE RIDES TIGERS. Before they got together to hone their penchant for meticulously-designed chaos in a bottle, Joe was in Chicago-based powerhouse The Bright White while Matt was in local indie favorite Hemmingbirds, and later Demi The Daredevil in Austin.

With Joe on guitar, bass VI, and lead vocals, and Matt on drums and vocals, YETI CHASER occupies a surprising amount of sonic territory despite their diminutive footprint. Drawing inspiration from other high-energy duos like Death From Above 1979, The White Stripes, and Japandroids, YETI CHASER manages to cultivate a sound all their own that is both unique—and at times—strikingly familiar.

YETI CHASER’S sound is rooted in reverb-drenched guitar riffs that evoke cavernous sci-fi landscapes and the kinds of thunderous, heart pounding drum beats you’d feel in your chest as you’re chased through the Himalayas by a howling paranormal beast. Combined with catchy, pop-inspired vocal hooks delivered with a post-punk-like vulnerability, their primal approach to songwriting and live performance is a force to be reckoned with.
